Deceased Hermosa Beach runner identified as director Jeffrey Pollack
Hermosa Beach Police confirmed on Thursday that the man found dead on the Greenbelt in Hermosa Beach on Monday was Jeffrey Ian Pollack.
Pollack, 54, was a producer for several episodes of the ’90s television show “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” director of “Booty Call” and writer-director of the 1994 basketball movie “Above the Rim,” among other projects.
He was found already deceased around 6:30 a.m. by a woman who was running on the popular Hermosa Beach trail early Monday morning. He was wearing jogging clothes and had an iPod Nano tuned to the Eagles. It is still unknown how he died, but police said there were no signs of foul play.
