Manhattan Beach woman must find bone marrow donor this month

Nina Polvanich Louie, a Manhattan Beach wife and mother of a two-year-old son, has less than a month to find a bone marrow match. She was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma last September, subsequently enduring seven rounds of aggressive chemotherapy at UCLA. After two months of remission, the lymphoma recurred in her brain. Louie is currently undergoing continued chemotherapy to control the disease but requires an urgent stem cell transplant. Finding a match has been particularly challenging, due to her Asian heritage. For more information, visit savenina.com.
