Spotlight on health – Topping Out Ceremony and Reception

To celebrate the midway point in construction of Torrance Memorial’s new Hunt Cancer Center, hospital donors, staff and members of the construction team gathered for the placement of the final piece of structural steel on the two-story, 37,000 square-foot facility with a Topping Out ceremony on February 28. More than 70 guests were invited to sign the ceremonial steel beam, adorned with an American flag and evergreen tree. The center is named after the late Donald Hunt, founder of South Bay-based Hunt Enterprises, and his wife Priscilla, who generously pledged $34 million to Torrance Memorial.
