Spotlight on Nature – From the Beach to the Bayou

Let’s “GLOW”

The South Coast Botanic Garden hosted its second stunning art and music installation that ran from November 20th, 2021 through January 17th, 2022. The interactive and visually immersive ocean and bayou theme drew crowds who were happy to be outside again among friends and family. There was a feeling of being inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland for a portion of the exhibit with fireflies all around and the sound of a banjos. An installation of Lotus Flowers at the Banyan Lawn all blooming in a spectacular display was moving, as was the Electric Desert at the Desert Garden, which was an expansive sea of multi-colored lights set on a desert topography. The show was sponsored by Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn, The MacLeod and MacLean Families, Twanna and Tim Rogers and Karen and Michael Melideo.
