Walk of Fame Weekend schedule
A photo exhibit featuring South Bay surf shots by Mike Balzer and Steve Gaffney will be on display Friday evening at the Hermosa Historical Museum during a reception for the 2018 Surfer Walk of Fame inductees. The exhibit will include the above photo of inductee Scott Daley, taken January 8, 2016, at the Breakwall.
The 2018 Hermosa Beach Surfer Walk of Fame inductions of Scott Daley, Kip Jerger, and Candy Woodward will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 28 at the Hermosa Beach Pier. The inductions will be followed by the Spyder Surf Fest fashion show and concert.
On the preceding evening, Friday, April 27, at 6 p.m., the Hermosa Beach Historical Society, and the South Bay Boardriders will host a reception for the Walk of Fame inductees and a photo exhibit by surf photographers Mike Balzer and Steve Gaffney.
Following the inductee reception, Brad Jacobson’s “Chasing Waves,” a film of the past winter’s surf, will screen in the Community Center Theater. The film will be followed by the presentation of the South Bay Boardriders Big Wave Challenge awards, honoring surfers who caught the past winter’s largest waves and their photographers. The evening will end with a party at Watermans on Pier Plaza.
