Redondo’s fifth-seeded girls volleyball team knocked off Lakewood in four game to advance to the CIF Southern Section-Ford Championship match. The Sea Hawks will take on second-seeded Long Beach Poly at Cypress College Saturday in a 7 p.m. contest.
Coach Tommy Chaffins’ Redondo squad will be playing in its fourth CIF title match and first since losing to Mira Costa in 2007. The Sea Hawks defeated the Mustangs in the 2006 championship match for their lone CIF title.
