Hermosa Beach photographer John DeTemple spends a lot of time looking inside the tube. As the creative director for Red Bull’s popular web series “Who is JOB?” he records the adventures of Hawaiian surfer Jamie O’Brien, one of the best barrel riders in the world. Here, DeTemple turns his lens on Teahupoo, the heavy Tahitian reef break. While there, he captured Keala Kennelly, who went on to win the Pure Scot Barrel of the Year Award at last week’s World Surf League Big Wave Awards.
