The Manhattan Beach Police Department released surveillance photos Thursday showing suspects in two separate home burglaries last month and is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

On Sunday, Aug. 18, two suspects entered a resident’s garage in the 2900 block of Ocean Drive and stole a gray Crestwood beach cruiser bicycle and a brown Arbor skateboard, according to police. Footage from a surveillance camera shows the two suspects riding south on Ocean Drive around 1:25 p.m. on a skateboard and scooter.

The first suspect is described as a Latino male adult, last seen wearing a white tank top, blue jeans and a baseball cap. The second suspect is described as a male adult, race undetermined, last seen wearing a blue shirt, khaki shorts, a blue backpack and a blue baseball cap.

Later that evening, a resident in the 700 block of Crest Drive returned home to find the front door pried open. The house was ransacked and items including jewelry and cash were missing, according to police. MBPD reviewed footage from surveillance cameras in the area and found two adult men wearing surgical masks walking from the location between 3 and 3:30 p.m. One of them was carrying a fully-loaded black plastic trash bag.
